Abstract
|
|
|
Congenital rotation of the spinal cord with extradural lipoma is very rare and it´s developmental mechanism is uncertain.
We have experienced a case of 20 year-old patient with progressive paraparesis and sensory disturbance around midthoracic region.
The operative finding revealed extradural lipomatosis that was histopathologically normal adipose tissue, slight rotation and atrophy of the spinal cord from fifth to ninth thoracic vertebral level.
In spite of decompressive laminectomy and removal of epidural lipoma, the neurological dificits were not improved.
